Community Outreach and Liaison Coordinator

You will be called upon to provide support, educate about the organization and the services available, and create links to community and public organizations and resources for the English-speaking community of Montérégie East. MEPEC is searching for a fluently bilingual and accomplished change-maker who is well connected to services in the community and can make a significant contribution to strengthening our role for the English-speaking community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and implement an outreach and liaison strategy
  • Establish, develop, and maintain harmonious collaboration and relationships with various community, public and/or private organizations throughout the region and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance MEPEC’s mission
  • Collaborate with service providers in the community to ensure that English-speaking people receive the most appropriate services
  • Develop MEPEC’s visibility as a resource center for the English-speaking community in the Montérégie East region
  • Promote MEPEC’s services to other organizations in the region and to the English-speaking population

Requirements

  • Postsecondary degree in a field related to employment (administration, arts or human sciences) and/or great experience in developing partnership, community and social development (minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience)
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Demonstrated mastery of the English language (written and spoken) and advanced ability to communicate in French (written and spoken).
  • Sense of organization and attention to detail
  • Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate a great deal of autonomy, adaptability and flexibility
  • Good team player
  • Access to a car

Conditions of Employment

  • This position is based on a working schedule of 15 hours per week until March 31, 2021. This position will be renewed on a yearly basis depending on funding
  • Date of entry: As soon as possible
  • Occasionally, the person may be required work on evening or weekend and may be asked to attend conferences, workshops or meetings that could require overnight stay
  • The office of MEPEC is in Beloeil, but the person will be required to travel occasionally

The salary for this position ranges from $20.00 to $22.00 per hours depending on the experience
